The mention of 'Africa' conjures images of hunger, disease, instability and backwardness. These ideas, which partly derive from media snapshots, are only a part of the African story. Many Africans, myself included, are piqued by this partial image of Africa, but many of us know very little about the African story -the peoples, the cultures and the history.
